Founded in 1964
March 24, 1964, this credit union was founded as T.U.T. Federal Credit Union by thirteen members to serve the employees of The University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. In October of 1976, the credit union’s name was officially changed to the University of Toledo Federal Credit Union and expanded services to the Medical College of Ohio’s employees. In the beginning, the service was limited, and the money short, but the 13 members were enthusiastic about their credit union. Sixty years later, UTFCU has grown from the original 13 members to 6,700+ members nationwide, providing a full spectrum of financial products and services.
University of Toledo Federal Credit Union has a closed membership, which means only UT faculty, staff, students, physicians, Alumni Association members, and their families are eligible to join.
